Shnat Sherut 50 Plus is built on close partnerships with local authorities and councils across Israel. Our work begins by listening to these communities, to their needs, their priorities, and their hopes for the future.
The councils are at the heart of this process. They identify the gaps where experienced volunteers can make the greatest difference. They define the roles the volunteers will take on, help shape the composition of each group, and welcome the volunteers into the life of the community. The councils also cover all housing expenses, ensuring that the volunteers can live in the areas where they serve.
From trauma relief and social services to education, culture, and resilience-building, every volunteer’s work is rooted in local priorities and delivered in close cooperation with council staff and community leaders.
Our partnership with local councils is also a partnership of trust. We know that living in a community, working shoulder-to-shoulder with local professionals, and responding to real needs is what makes Shnat Sherut 50 Plus so powerful and effective.
